During our trip, I managed to get only a few quotes down on paper before they were forever lost.
Our first morning (06 October), we had a leisurely breakfast, chatted with the girls about seeing their friends again, got their thoughts on Alaska and Kansas City in general. I say "girls" plural, but really, G did most of the talking, and realistically speaking, of the two, she's probably the only one that retains any real memories of our having lived there. We had mentioned the snow: the first of the year fell in the afternoon before our landing, but most of it had melted before we even stepped out of the airport. So G says, "I don't like Kansas City, is too hot."
Drew's convinced that "the Devil invented air travel in order to discourage large families".
At a young age, G knew her popes – Papa B and JPII at least. So Drew's making sure that BB isn't left behind. Her attempts at Pope John Paul resulted in "Pope Pau-Pau" and "John Pau-Pau".
Upon leaving Alaska (in April), Drew decided to downgrade his beard to a goatee; during our week-long visit, he wanted to revisit his caveman days. It seems, however, that G was not so keen on this idea: "You don't want kiss, Daddy, because you have beard." Translation, she didn't want to kiss him because of his scratchy face, and even she'll try to avoid that part of his face.
