Two Fingers

School Rhyme

Five little apples sitting in a tree
One looked down and smiled at me
I shook that tree as hard as I could
One fell off and it was good!

Blanky

Appliance Revolt

Last week it was the refrigerator. The fridge side was running warmer than normal, so G helped me to shift all the food into the basement while we defrosted and waited for an overnight part. This week it's the dryer, which has started making this squealing sound whenever we run it. It's a good thing I have a clothesline in the basement.

Rolling Workbench

Tunes

Yes, she actually seems to be doing that puzzle.

Floor Time

Apple Crown

Made at school.

Hobby Lobby

Girls got some start of school gift money from AhPoh, and I decided they had to spend it on a craft item at Hobby Lobby. They had so much fun looking at – and touching – all the possibilities. Though not strictly a craft item, Z and M couldn't resist matching cupcake headbands. G and BB got a wide assortment of things, among them, a calligraphy pen set, cardstock, and felt.

The Latest Victim

BB got a new doll last week (above, when it was new out of the box), one that she saved up for herself, a Rapunzel with a foot of hair. On Saturday, G brought me what looked to be a yellow mop top: M cut half of Rapunzel's mane using BB's scissors that she had left out. Yup, add that to M's list of things to replace.

Magformers

100 Days

Movin' On Up

M2's in the big high chair at the table with the rest of us now.

Magformers are the belated birthday gift, and they'll do double duty for homeschool.

Merida-Ponyo

Blue-faced Merida's head broke off the body, so G remade it into a plush doll for M2. Reminded me of Ponyo before she became a little girl.

Compost Bins

Stackable compost bins (three bins of four levels each) that I helped Drew assemble last weekend.

Lids to keep pests out. Will be stained/sealed before going into action, just in time for autumn and all those leaves falling off our trees.

Vandalism

M's been quite the vandal lately. First it was drawing all over the spare mattress and BB's bunny; then it was a pair of scissors to a dress I was making.

There was marker graffiti on my couch (Z did her part by drawing on the piano) and later on in the bathroom and on the door; and a number of dolls got their hair cut. What are we going to do with that kid? At least M2's toned her act down.

2 Years Old

One of M2's favorites is spaghetti with meat sauce, though we thought we'd give homemade meatballs a try to be festive. Not interested, as you can see.

Chocolate-chocolate-chocolate cake that G made and BB decorated.

She seemed esp to like the chocolate ganache.

G gifted a dump truck and two handmade felt bean bags, one with an L and one with a U on it.

BB convinced Z and M to split the cost of this walking, barking dog. (M2's parents' gift is late as usual.) And after all the chores were done, we watched Monsters Inc.

3 Months

It was not too long ago that we hated tummy time, but we're getting better at it!
