Talking to Herself

On the ride home from church, M2 talking out loud to herself:
Who made the grass? ...God.
Who made the roads? ...Man.
But sometimes people can't make whole roads, so what do they make? Dead ends.

Plastic Wrap Prizes

Game that Aunt Christie brought for kids, variety of toys and trinkets wrapped in plastic wrap. Everyone gets a go at ripping at the ball to see what they can uncover.

Black Widow

If only you could see the black on black detail on this doll. The curly hair is actually leftover from the year the kids were hobbits for Halloween and we made them hairy feet.

Guest stockings are ready!

Billy Carts

Like all terrain sleds (with pedals) since goodness knows we don't get snow around here. G and BB assembled the first with little help; the second one was not so easy.

Science Museum

Took the kids on unexpected trip to science museum to walk around, had the place practically to ourselves for the first hour, which was a nice change. (The science museum is a popular place.) We toured their restored 1929 parlor train car, which is normally only available for viewing from the outside; I finally got to see the origami (limited time) exhibit, some amazing stuff they can do now with help of computers, which is a bit cheaty in my opinion; the kids played giant sized games; experienced natural phenomenon like EF-1 tornado winds (~80mph) and the various type earthquakes; learned about dental health; rode a Segway, twice in some cases; carved beeswax; and learned about pulleys and levers.

Thor's Hammer

First envisioned by X with an empty tissue box and paper towel roll and improved by BB.

Artwork

It's a wonder what brand new gel pens will inspire in the kids: J drawing on her own forehead and the older kids (including X) sitting for hours, coloring at old books.

Digest It Theme Park

Homework assignment. Includes Intestinal Twister; Stomach Acid Bouncer; and the Broccoli Splash rides.

Battling

With St Nicholas bubble wands. Kids also got assortment of candy including Nerds and chocolate coins.

The perfect size water bottle for moving from room to room -- and back again.

Enchanted

By the maze.

Bear Track Landing

Is what the indoor pool area is called. That bucket at top is what dumps "lottsa water" on people below.

Kiddie Pool

Had these two in the kiddie pool (borrowed floatie on J too big), while the rest enjoyed the big kid slides. The Howling Tornado was popular with the kids tall enough to ride; and standing underneath the Big Dump seemed to be a great thrill.
