Evidently, there's a saying in the military about not liking the place you're currently living, liking the place you just left. Drew and I were discussing this point after our arrival into Anc (05 October), and we realized in visiting Alaska, we'd actually come home. Seeing some of our dear friends and being able to hold them was really good for me at least. In retrospect, it makes these last few months in Missouri, at times, seem all the more lonely.
My spirits are still agitated from our return (overnight) flight, my thoughts are all in a jumble. It's impossible to get restive sleep on those flights, and G and BB were for certain a mess by the time we arrived in to KCI yesterday morning. Z did a little better coming back, maybe because she was so tired from the week, much disturbed in her regular schedule. I'm glad we have today to rest and recover, although Drew went back to work this morning.
