Woe to you, our trip is not over yet! We still have the drive home.
So there's the finding and packing of all our belongings, like numerous wooden peg people, which Z graciously spread all over the place.
First thing after breakfast (Dunkin' Donuts!), the girls wanted to play with their Ponies, and we obliged since it kept them in that corner. We got under way in pretty good time, probably because of our practice in getting to the Disney parks early.
We stopped at a Gainesville Sonny's for lunch, and drive pretty much nonstop to Destin.
Maybe the girls were enjoying the time off their feet because they didn't fuss at all about being in the car all day. A movie or two might have helped.
The powdery sand just outside our hotel is as fine as any of the other beaches we've been to so far. I make a mental note not to sit in the sand, or do anything that would bring the sand within three feet of the camera.
We have dinner at Louisiana Lagniappe, a cozy little restaurant next to a harbor. We sit out on the deck, which at first seems like a mistake because it's still so humid out.
Drew has some sort of fish and soft-shell crab, which isn't too bad. (I can remember better.) But let me tell you, their Cajun seafood gumbo was fantastic. Sadly, they won't share the recipe.
Afterward we feed the fish, tiny little things that we can barely see in the growing dark, off the dock using bread brought from Orlando. And then G and BB get to take a dip in the hotel pool before bed.
