Animal Kingdom

Apparently, the ride to hit up at the AK is the Everest roller coaster, which goes backwards in some places, so we went there first – and G rode it twice. (Yes, BB was bitter about that too.)

The next hot attraction: the Kali River Rapids. BB, G and I got soaked, as in sitting directly under the fountain soaked. See the look on BB's face? Not happy.

But knowing what to expect, the girls went a second time – see Daddy's waving hand? – and BB was able to enjoy it more.

Though they weren't so happy about their soaking clothes on the walk to the next ride.

A fruit bat, one of the largest? And, interestingly, not nocturnal.

On the safari, Z took a nap; and I forget the name of those cattle, but their horns get ridiculously long.

A word about the few baby care centers spread throughout Disneyworld: take advantage! They're quiet air-conditioned oasises away from the bustle of the Disney power house. There's a number of padded changing stations (no free products though); private rooms with rocker gliders for nursing; and an activity room (with TV showing the Disney channel) for the older kids while they wait.

Would you be surprised to hear that Disney purposely circulates the smell of their foods in order to entice you to buy? It's a strong person who can resist corn dogs, esp that crunchy bit at the bottom, you know what I'm talking about. And it seems the AK is "infested" with beggar ducks.

After a light lunch, we headed to the It's Tough to be a Bug show; and the Finding Nemo musical, which was only so-so in my opinion.

On the way out of the park, we stopped at DinoLand so Drew could take G on another roller coaster, while BB and Z had to settle for the Boneyard, which is a maze play yard with slides.

Lastly, we rode the Triceratop Spin, which is just Dumbo except with dinosaurs.

That's the Tree of Life in the background. Since we did not plan to return to the AK in the evening – the AK closes early compared to the other parks – we didn't depart until after lunch, which might have been too much for BB.

We took M on her first swim – in the hotel pool.

That's the sign of nap time.

For dinner, we ate at Sweet Tomatoes, a salad and soup bar that, happily, has locations here on the Kansas side.
