Do you know what it is to have to share one of those little containers of strawberries with a bunch of people? You get a couple of good bites, start salivating for more, and they're all gone: you're left feeling unsatisfied. At least that's how I feel when the girls hear there are strawberries in the house. But not this weekend!
We had our very own buffet on Hen House's flat-of-strawberries (12 pint baskets) sale. (People at the grocery store asked the girls if they were having a strawberry party.) Though they weren't peak season sweet, they were sweet enough and tender.
Epilogue: Losing only three or four strawberries to total mold-rot, it took us exactly five meals to finish them all. I think I have strawberry hulling-related carpal tunnel.
