The Armpit Chip

Usually when BB doesn't want to eat something, she'll simply toss it from her highchair. You know, the developmental drop-and-look. But lately she's been putting more flair into the toss, or finding more creative ways to get rid of the undesirable food discretely. For awhile she was doing the fake-out toss, kind of like they do in basketball. You know, you want the opponent to think you're going to throw it to the right, but by a trick of the hand, you throw it left. Then for a very brief while we were throwing it over our shoulder/head, but I had to put the kebosh on that for mess factor.

Today she had a new one for me – or maybe it's the first time I've ever seen her do it. She had this tortilla chip that she didn't want and rather than do any of the creative tosses, she tried to hide it in her armpit. It sounds kind of weird, but with the chip kind of stuck on her shirt and wedged between her arm and body, whenever she raised her arm next, the chip would slide down her side and into the seat of her highchair. Voila!
