Two cakes – and a critter clinic – for our two-year-old.
Not knowing what was going to happen at the neurologists, I decided to make a cake – a zucchini swirl Bundt with an afterthought chocolate ganache because I used only bittersweet chocolate chunks in the mix – for Z for our housewarming Memorial Day BBQ over the weekend. We invited Elizabeth and her parents, Z's godparents; Tracy and Dan P, and their kids; and Kyle and Mike, and their boys. Don't ask me why, but I enjoyed seeing her get embarrassed at being the center of attention...
as compared with the zombie-like stare of yesterday evening, which was partially the side effects of the med and waiting until too close to her regular bedtime. (I made this chocolate carrot cake, which I think would have been much better if I hadn't run out of chocolate chips.)
