We had our physical therapist on Wednesday working on picking Z's feet up so she can start cruising. Again, she seems to be familiar with the motions – when prodded –, but as far as Z's concerned, standing is as high as she aspires: her feet are pretty well rooted with her knees locked. Even if we entice her with a special toy, only one leg, the right (consistently?), will move her towards her goal; hence, the other is her safety. So Jessica, the PT, prescribed "walking" Z as much as possible to get her used to picking up her feet, both forwards and sideways, employing a walker, placing her feet when the opportunity arises, and passing her back and forth between adults.
