This father daughter team spent about forty-five minutes on this side of the lake, where the "current" of the water flowed towards them so that they were perpetually recasting their line. And it being hot and somewhat boring, G lost interest pretty quickly.
After walking back around the lake to the car, they stopped to have an apple and Drew convinced G to give it another try...
And they bagged a 10 inch bass: catch and release. You might wonder how G managed to fish and eat her apple at the same time. Drew reports that he was holding the pole when the fish bit, and he maintained his hold while she turned the reel with one hand and continued to eat. But evidently, she didn't realize there was an actual living fish on the end until the line was nearly completely in. They didn't stick around until the end to see if they won any big prize, but every kid that caught a fish got a tackle box with a gift certificate. (Ours is for a free admission to Paradise Park.)Before I was shown the pictures (above), we took this video of G telling us how big her fish was. It seems Drew hasn't taught her the finer points of fishing yet.
