We had several days of spectacular weather (20C / 70F), so we were out and about, doing a lot of window shopping, getting ideas. (Yesterday turned cold and today's been full on rain/drizzle, making our morning jaunt to a more traditional Chinese breakfast – forgot my camera! – rather more uncomfortable than it should have been.)
BB had her turn at a sleep-over in Hsinchu, only one night. She got to eat a lot of tasties – vegetarian restaurant at the univ, Beard Papa's at the train station –, and reported being disobedient – to San YP – only once.
I took G and Z for a walk, there's the tiniest playground just down the street (adjacent to some basketball courts, which is probably one of the most played sports here). Then we went window shopping, after I loaded the girls up on a tasty drink from 7-Eleven: the NET, which is the Asian version of Gap, owned by Gap; G2000 (mostly business attire); Mango (Spanish label); and a couple Italian clothing labels I've never heard of before.
Another day I took G to make a Playdoh figurine (below). Afterward we slowly made our way through the levels of the dept store – stopped at the book level and Muji in particular – and ended up in the food court drooling over the pastries. Bought a taro root (purple) stuffed with dried shredded pork; a strawberry loaf (not what you're thinking); a chocolate swirl (above), which had chocolate and cream cheese in the middle; and
a variety of mochi. There's mocha mochi stuffed with peanut butter; plain mochi stuffed with peanut butter, covered with crushed peanuts; plain mochi stuffed with red bean paste, covered with powdered sugar; and black sesame mochi stuffed with black sesame, covered in black sesame.
My grandparents on their wedding day.
Z "going home" with Wong PP. Not to be outdone, M wanted to go too.
