We had one day of incredible weather, just look at all that beautiful sunshine, sandwiched between days of overcast and cold, so we had an outing.
In Taipei, most all the power company boxes are painted up with flowers or some simple nature scene. Much more pleasant to look at than graffiti or drab military green.
Not far from our place is the Miniatures Museum of Taiwan. Just inside the entrance, they have a small collection of Barbies; these weird old man dolls that look like they're made of animal skin but really it's just paper; and then there's these exquisitely carved egg shells.
The museum's pièce de résistance seems to be the Rose Mansion.
Can you picture it, Elizabeth, having your afternoon teas on this veranda off the side of the house?
Awesomely small plates of food (and BB's fingers).
This is Drew's gussied up man-cave with adjoining wine cellar. (See more pictures here.)
Afterward we took the girls to the park around the corner from the museum.
For the longest while, there was only one other kid there (left), lots of people passing through on the way to somewhere, so almost like having the place all to ourselves, making vitamin D. A grand morning: shortly after lunch, the clouds rolled in.
