2nd Annual FGT: Part II

The lot of us met at (Great) Uncle Jim's the next day, and ended up spending the entire morning there. M meeting Aunt Cindy.

A gift from A.Cindy: you pet the back of the dog and it'll wag its tail.

G and Christian got along famously.

Cindy and daughter Susan.

Mark, GU Jim and Ron. (After this I took BB and went to the local farmers' market with G.Aunt Mary and her daughter-in-law Shannan and her daughter Marissa.)

The entire family had lunch at Valentino's Italian buffet. (From L to R: Alan, GU Jim, Marissa, and GA Mary.)

G and Christian discussing Mr Salt and Mrs Pepper, of Blue's Clues fame.

Shannan's boys Easton (holding M) and Lucas were off to a birthday party in the afternoon, so we had all the kids take a picture together.

Funny story: We had an extra melon at the house, so I took it to Kearney to be consumed the night of our BBQ, but on our way from the hotel on Saturday morning, Drew left it in front of the car and neither of us saw it as we were pulling away. And there it sat for most of the day in the scorching heat: no one touched it! We ended up not eating it, and it traveled to Colorado with Christie the next day.

Going swimming again in the afternoon.

With U.Ron.

With A.Maria (back at GU Jim's for the BBQ). We feasted on hamburgers and hotdogs; homemade BBQ beans; fruit salad; homegrown tomatoes; a cucumber salad using GA Mary's recipe; a strawberry trifle that Shannan brought; an apple-Snickers salad that Marissa made; an assortment of cookies that GA Mary must have slaved over – she's so good to us; and baked potato, Colorado peaches, and sauteed bell peppers (from GA Mary's garden).

Mark and Cindy's corgi Chloe. (Alan also had his dachshund Trixie at the house.)

Shannan introducing Marissa's guinea pig Oleo(sp?) to G.

After dinner, GU Jim took people for rides in his cruiser (that he's had since high school).

Marissa with Christopher: 2nd cousins?

Have you had enough pictures yet?

The girls saying farewell to GU Jim. (He and GA Mary had a previous engagement for Sunday, so weren't able to join us for mass and brunch.)
