G and BB were occupying themselves with a game of hide-and-seek one afternoon, and BB wasn't able to locate G, so we called for her to come out but to no avail.

AhPoh: Go tell Gie-Gie that we're going out for ice cream.
(BB calling for G in another room.)
G: Here I am... we're going out for ice cream?!
AhPoh (laughing): No, I was just kidding.
Me: Isn't AhPoh so mean? She was just kidding about the ice cream.
G (somewhat puzzled): So we're not going out for ice cream?
BB: I want sprinkles!
Me: No. Do you know what it means to kid someone?
BB: We're going to eat hot sauce [instead]?
