We received our hospital bill, pre-insurance, some weeks ago, and I'm sure I never knew that having a baby could be that expensive: a partial stay in the NICU (on top of the regular expenses) can really add up. The after-insurance bill regarding M's stay came last week and I wish I had been sitting down, it was that much. Drew was positively incensed when he saw it – and then he got on the phone to BC/BS. He happened to get the same customer service rep that enrolled M onto our health insurance. She remembered Drew – she has five girls (and two boys) of her own – and called the hospital that instant to tell them not to send us anymore bills; she would take care of it.
