Last weekend we took AhGong ("Grandpa") to Talkeetna to see Mt McKinley. We took a lot of pictures – but I'll only bore you with a few. Princess was running an end-of-the-season special so we stayed there Friday night. Saturday we had lunch at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge (below is some video) – FYI: it's true what they say: they do have the best views, even if their food is so-so – and then wandered around downtown Talkeetna. It's a very small town and it seems everyone there, besides the tourists, were either college-age or oldsters who'd seen a few too many hard winters. I wish I could remember some of the cute bumper sticker sayings that I saw. I did, however, come away with a homemade jar of fireweed jelly. Great stuff.
