the new dude

We shall draw nearer to God not by trying to avoid the sufferings inherent in our lives, but by accepting them and offering them to Him; throwing away all defensive armor. If our hearts need to be broken, and if He chooses this as the way in which they should break, so be it.

—C.S. Lewis

If heaven and hell exist, nothing else matters; if heaven and hell don't exist, then nothing matters.

– C.S. Lewis

four

Do what you can, with the time you have, for the love of God.

– Sr Brigid

For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.

– 1 Corinthians 1:25

seven

It is no longer in my power to change, correct, or add to the past...And so what the past has embraced, I must entrust to God.

– St. Faustina

We have not the right and we have not the reason to despair if we understand that our entire struggle is premised not upon a victory to be achieved, but a victory that has been achieved...far from despair, we have a right and reason to rejoice that we are called to such a time as this, a time of testing, a time of truth.

– Fr Richard Neuhaus
