Started weaning Z off her meds yesterday. Lots of emotions balled up into that statement, not only for the 2+ years of weary watchfulness while on the meds, but also for the vigilance required in the next year. So it'll be two weeks of half doses and then off completely. The doc warned that the greatest chance for breakthrough seizures will occur in the first three months, but for every three-month increment (up to a year) that we "survive" without a seizure, her risk for having one will decrease.
