Christmas Letter

On the fourth day of Christmas, I put our Christmas letter on the blog.

Presents

During a round of present opening, it became Daddy's turn and as he was ripping at the paper, BB eagerly announced, "I think it's a thing!"

In actuality, the box contained a mug and some coffee.

Merry Christmas!

Erupted

M's first tooth – on the front, lower right side, a sharp little thing. And just in time for Christmas!

I think she's "tasting" that new tooth.

Christmas Cubed

The unintentional theme for this year is cubes.

I made story dice for the kids. (Bet you didn't know I could draw.)

And M's first Christmas ornament.

Bundled

Sneak peek: we got Z a baby doll and sling (not pictured) for Christmas, don't tell her, so I was gratified to see how much she liked "wearing" M's lion.

You might wonder why there's so many pictures of Z. She likes to hang around me more than the older two, consequently, she gets more of her cute moments captured on film.

The Other Three

So did you ever wonder what G, BB and Z were doing that weekend Drew and I (and M) were on that trip?

We left them with Elizabeth! (Thanks again, Eliza!) When asked how she was feeling when we were getting ready to leave, she said, "Terrified!" :)

Though I don't remember the exact details, she took them to Red Barn Farm on Saturday (pictures by Elizabeth's BIL); church and ??? on Sunday; and to a friend's house to play on Monday. Because of weather delays, we got home much later than expected, so we missed having a happy reunion: interestingly, when they awoke the next morning, they acted as if we'd never been gone – all a dream? – and it was just another day.

Wrong

Me: Hi, Z-Boo.
Z: Uh-uh.

Debut

The annual school Christmas program was last night.

Don't let the pictures fool you: BB didn't look that happy when her class got up to sing – Jingle Bells, Away in a Manger, and Happy Birthday, Jesus. In fact, she simply stood there with her fingers in her mouth. Maybe it was stage fright.

M also had her stage debut last night – as Baby Jesus. (The play was about a girl and her grandfather using a time machine to travel back to see Bethlehem, the shepherds, the wise men, and the birth of Christ.) She did really well, right up until she got a bit tangled in Mary's hair, trying to look around, and lost her plug. All the parents were motioning about the pacifier, and Mary was whispering to Joseph to put it back in. Finally, as we were about to do a pass-off and Mary stood up, M calmed down.

Afterward M tolerated a round of young girls and adults crowding her, and some pictures as the Holy Family.

Too Cool

for just one pair of sunglasses apparently.

The Lion and the Tiger: 6 Months

I don't really put her in the black chair much anymore, she's always wanting to lean forward in it and grab at anything she can get, and then gets frustrated when she can't reach it. The borrowed Bumbo was short lived for that reason too.
