Saturday Crafting
In preparation for a visit from the tooth fairy, G made a piggy bank.
And I whipped up this canvas paint mat – from the 50% remnant bin, oh yeah! – before starting the girls on this Valentine art project. Our printer is running out of ink, so I ended up hand drawing the template.

Super
We don't have any regular TV at the house, cable or otherwise, so when Drew decided he wanted to watch the Super Bowl, he had to rig some sort of get up with the DTV box. Evidently, the girls weren't so impressed with regular TV because during the first half of the game: we often heard comments like, "Aw, another commercial!", or "Daddy, I don't like football. There's too many commercials." Not that I was very impressed either. I remember the commercials being much better.
Nocturnal Walker
Z's been getting up and wandering the house at night. After she's negotiated the stairs, she'll reach the kitchen or the hallway entrance and start calling for me. Not in a distressed tone of voice, rather a "Momma, where are you? I'm looking for you (in the dark!)" kind of way. I theorize that M's restlessness/crying wakes her and then she goes looking for me to come and soothe M. The thing is, I'm already in the room, but she's bound and determined to go looking for me downstairs: go figure. We've taken to putting the upstairs gate back up.

Sleigh Shovel
Drew got an official snow day, i.e. non-teleworking, the day after our blizzard. The ice and below-freezing temps (but sunny!) caused the fed building downtown to close, so Drew's boss decided they would follow suit. We really did nothing all day – like having a Sunday in the middle of the week.
In the morning, there was some shoveling to do; and in the afternoon, the girls went sledding. Z was practically rooted to that spot, twisting only her torso and head to see what was going on behind her.
This time, Drew created a sledding chute for them. (The last one completely melted.)
Trying to melt the ice off the bottom of G's sled. (This particular window is not so clean.)
I motioned for Drew to put Z on one of the sleds, but she was like a sack of potatoes and fell right off.
So why not let her ride in the sleigh shovel?
I mean, if I'm going to go to all the trouble of bundling her up, I want her to at least experience some sledding.

Wiggle
G's got her first loose tooth! (The front bottom right. Do they go in the same order that they came?) Drew noticed it while flossing her teeth this evening. An unsettling – and at the same time a little thrilling – thought for me because, one, teeth aren't supposed to wiggle like that normally and, two, my baby's growing up.

Blizzard Cocoa
We're not going to get the massive amounts of snow the doom-and-gloom meteorologists predicted we might get, but enough that Drew's boss called a telecommuting day for everyone in the office. During a tea break, Drew made hot cocoa – with lots of marshmallows! – for the girls.
